Employment Opportunities at Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue

Entry Level Positions

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is recruiting for our Entry Level Eligibility List.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    18 years of age
•    High school diploma, GED, or higher degree
•    Current Washington or National Registry EMT B certification or
      Paramedic certification with ACLS, PALS and PHTLS certifications;
•    WA State FFI certification or the equivalent at time of employment offer
•    ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800
•    Current driver’s license and insurable 5-year employment driving abstract
•    Current CPAT card (passing score within 12 months of employment offer)
•    Successfully completion of a background investigation.

2019 FF/EMT Salary: $5,551/month Step A (+ benefits package)
2019 FF/PM Salary: $6,106/month Step A (+ benefits package)


General Information about the Application Process:

• Written test appointments are available at Lower Columbia College Testing Center in Longview, WA
  with a cost of $55 March 1, 2019 until April 4, 2019:

• Top candidates will be contacted to request applications in early April. Applications will be due by May 10, 2019.

Lateral Positions

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is always accepting applications for our
 Lateral Level Eligibility List.

Lateral applicants must meet the following requirements:
- 12 months continuous full-time employment as a FF/EMT(or PM) with the same agency or
- 4 years continous volunteer participation as a FF/EMT(or PM) with the same agency
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Eligible to obtain a WA or National EMT or Paramedic certification.
