Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue Public Education

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is committed to keeping our community safe with public education and fire prevention!

Fire Station Visits

We are thrilled to have visitors at our fire station! Our Headquarters Station at 701 Vine St in Kelso is open during business hours for drop-in visits.

To request Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue personnel to attend your event, contact Fire Secretary Davis at (360) 575-6298. Events must be in our fire district, and we need enough notice to find a crew to attend the event.

CPR Classes

We offer American Heart Association CPR classes each quarter.
Click the link to the left for more information about our classes.

Fire Extinguisher Classes

We offer Fire Extinguisher classes to businesses in our fire district. While there is no charge, businesses must come to our location, and may be asked to provide fire extinguishers for use in the class.

Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week is the 2nd week in October each year. We invite local preschools and homeschool groups to visit our station for special tours, and we host an Open House at the end of the week. Click the link to the left for more information on this year's event.

Safe Kids Lower Columbia Partnership

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is proud to partner with Safe Kids Lower Columbia to offer car seat safety clinics on the third Saturday of the month from 10am to 1pm at our Headquarters Station.

We also partner with them to promote poison information, water safety, bike safety, and other safety issues at special events throughout the year. Visit the Safe Kids Lower Columbia Facebook page for more information about the organization and upcoming events.

Home Safety Assesments and Smoke Detector Installation

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue provides home safety assesments and smoke detector installation for home owners in our district. To schedule, call Fire Secretary Davis at (360) 575-6298. This service is only for home owners in our district who reside in the home we are assessing. We cannot assess or install detectors in commercial or rental properties.

Junior Firesetter Prevention Program

We have personnel who are trained in Junior Firesetter Prevention and Intervention. If you need assistance with this, please give us a call at (360) 578-5218.
