Board of Commissioners
Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is governed by an elected Board of Commissioners. There are five positions on the board, and each member serves a term of 6 years.
Board of Commissioner meetings are held on the 4th Wednesdays of the month at 4:30 pm, in the Station 29 classroom at 701 Vine St in Kelso. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Marisa Hutcheson
Board Chair
Marisa Hutcheson was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on December 23, 2020, and was first elected on November 2, 2021. She leads the Healthcare Alliance of Southwest Washington, and has twenty years of emergency management service.
Jon Olson
Vice Chair
Jon Olson was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on March 23, 2005 and was elected on January 1, 2008. He is a registered nurse at St. Johns Medical Center in Longview.
Bill Hallanger
Commissioner
Bill Hallanger was first elected to the Board of Commissioners on January 1, 1992 after being a department volunteer starting in 1975. He was a forester with International Paper then a realtor with a local firm until he retired in 2017. He is also currently a supervisor with the Longview Diking District (CDID 1).
Alan Headley
Commissioner
 Alan Headley was appointed to the Board of Commissioners on March 12, 2014 and elected January 1, 2016. He is currently the District’s representative on the Cowlitz 911 Public Authority Board of Directors. He retired from Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue December 2012 as an Assistant Chief after 40 years of service. He enjoys traveling, photography and spending time with family.
George Lomasney
Commissioner
George Lomasney was first elected to the Board of Commissioners on January 1, 2026.
He is a U.S. Army vetern and a retired paper mill employee. He is honored to continue service to his community.
